An hour from Dublin you are in another Ireland. The County of Kildare is home to horse-racing so discover if you have the luck of the Irish at the renowned Punchestown and Curragh racecourses, just 20 minutes from Kildare Village. For courses of a different kind, world-class golf courses host high-profile championships and welcome visitors too. With picturesque villages in the region, complete with welcoming pubs, you may just want to meander and enjoy the cuisine on offer; at La Serre in Celbridge, for example, with its fine open-air dining in the summer.
