Monica Cruz

Actress Monica Cruz made an appearance at La Roca Village to launch the ‘Be Green Be Chic’ environmental campaign. She posed with the eco tote in the sunshine wearing a floral dress and green peep-toe heels. The "eco" tote has been created exclusively for La Roca Village and Las Rozas Village, available in many boutiques across the Village for just €9. Monica confessed that she knows more about Las Rozas Village as it is closer to her Madrid home, but was very impressed by the range of boutiques at La Roca Village. 1.    How important is eco fashion to you?
If we can make people aware of being responsible with environmental conservation through fashion, I think it’s fantastic. Using fashion as a great platform that permits to spread messages to people is something really good. At the end, fashion is followed by everyone. And I think that we should promote that kind of projects more often.

2.    Did you enjoy your day at La Roca Village?
It was an honor that they invited me to take part in this project. As actress, we are exposed to the public and I think that we have to involve us with every project that we can. For me, it’s a must. That day, I have had a great time, it was fun and I love the project. It was a very long and hard day, but it was worth it.

3.    What are your favourite boutiques at the Village?
What makes La Roca Village amazing is that you can find a great range and variety of trends and fashion; its open air, and you find very interesting prices. The wide range of brands ensures you will always find what you are looking for.

4.    What trends will you be wearing this summer?
I love fashion, and I love to follow trends, but the most important thing is always being yourself and adapting the edge cutting fashion proposals to your own style. I don’t think you have to wear something because it’s in, if you do it, you’ll look like if you’re not yourself, like dressed up in costumes.

5.    Who are your favourite designers – Spanish and international?
I have a lot! There’s a lot of talent in Spain, but also in other countries. Of course, there are fashion leading designers like Valentino, Armani, Galliano… in Spain there are also a lot of great designers like Juanjo Oliva, Miguel Palacio, Angel Schelsser, etc.

6.    Why do you think Spanish women are so chic?
I think that Spanish women have a strong character, with a lot of personality and that reflects on how we get dressed…

7.    What does Chic mean to you?
When someone catches your attention, it’s not just about the way he or she goes dressed up, it’s about his personality; someone that makes you look at him or her is someone with a strong character, someone with ethics and good moral. To dress up with very expensive outfits doesn’t necessarily make you chic. Fashion is important, but as a complement to emphasize everyone’s personality
