Franca Sozzani
Vogue Italia editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani talks to Chic Outlet Shopping® about her new book and working with Fidenza Village at the launch of Vogue Talents.
Lets talk about your book, I capricci della moda.
It’s not a book, it’s a web posts collection. It is a diary between me and young readers. It remembers me about specific moments, fashion moments, tension moments, trends that I didn’t like, behaviours that I don’t like, or behaviours that I like. It’s fun writing these posts and I like to share them with young readers.
Did you find Fidenza Village support useful for Vogue talent?
Every single reality that helps artists in expressing themselves and making real their ideas is very important. They opportunity to work for a final buyer that can make your realize eventually that your projects are not as good as you thought. I think that the final retail store is very important.
Is there any young talent that you like in particular among the ones that will show their work here in October?
We still didn’t make a selection, we’re still choosing. I’m generally proud when I see young talent, like the guys from “Who’s on Next” who made it. It’s a big satisfaction to see that they find a job, they have success. It’s like a mother with her children, it seems the family is growing larger.
What does the word chic mean to you?
It means all and nothing. In my opinion is a concept of elegance, but we should define elegance at first. More or less? I think less is better. Too much is not elegance anymore.
