MUNICH, Ingolstadt Village
Lying next to the sublime Altmühltal Nature Park, Ingolstadt Village is a beautiful place to shop: open-air promenades are lined by buildings inspired by the tradition of European textile mills.
The Village boasts over 110 outlet boutiques of German and international luxury fashion. I can relax at the Mandarin Oriental in Munich – one of the world’s top 10 hotels – and still be browsing my favourite brands in under 50 minutes.
Top of my list would be the couture collection in Philipp Plein. For fabulous Spanish colour, Desigual has a boutique here – although with reductions of up to 60%* across the Village I’ll make time to browse the Baldessarini boutique for my husband too, not forgetting to pick some lovely leather luggage from Tumi to carry it all home.
If I plan my day well, I’ll still have time for some traditional Bavarian fare at the Stiftl restaurant. What more could a woman want?

BAVARIA & FRANKFURT, Wertheim Village
Undoubtedly, Frankfurt is Germany’s economic hub – full of bustle, noise and high finance. All of which makes Wertheim Village, just 50 minutes away, my favourite oasis of calm in Hesse.
At the gateway to the “Romantic Road” – the old trade route along which you can discover medieval towns and magnificent sights such as Neuschwanstein Castle – Wertheim Village is a treasure trove of more than 110 boutiques, packed with international premium brands, each offering up to 60%* savings. Immaculately presented in openair, landscaped boulevards, Longchamp,
Trussardi Jeans and Belstaff each have there own boutique here. And I always make time to browse the menswear in Baldessarini. As a fashion designer myself, I’m also interested in the coolest emerging German labels too, meaning I can spend hours checking out the bargains from the likes of Drykorn and still tell myself I’ve been working.
